One less worry
Giving birth to an infant in poor health is one of the scariest things a new parent may face. Modern Woodmen's Newborn Life Insurance Benefit can’t take the scary away, but this two-part member program can lessen some financial anxiety.
Part 1: Up to $90,000 of guaranteed coverage
Modern Woodmen members can apply for $10,000 of permanent life insurance for their newborn’s future. This member benefit guarantees the coverage will be issued at standard rates – regardless of the infant’s current health.
Members who take advantage of the Newborn Life Insurance Benefit also add a required guaranteed purchase option rider. This life insurance add-on ensures the child can obtain up to $80,000 of additional coverage as an adult. Standard rates. No medical questions required.*
Part 2: Support in case of early tragedy
The Newborn Life Insurance Benefit provides automatic financial support to qualifying families who suffer the loss of an infant within the first six months. The benefit provides $10,000 to assist with the newborn’s funeral or medical costs. No life insurance application required.**
Do I qualify?
- For both parts of the program: At least one legal parent must be a member, covered by a Modern Woodmen life insurance or annuity product for six months immediately preceding the child’s birth.
- For the guaranteed life insurance coverage: The newborn must be at least 24 hours old but younger than 1 year (365 full days) at application.
- For the automatic death benefit: The newborn must have lived for 24 hours but less than 180 full days.
